Lee Darnbrough will leave his role as Port Vale's senior head of recruitment at the end of September. The departure comes as the club sits bottom of League Two with just two points from their opening five matches.
Darnbrough was appointed to the position in June, arriving from local rivals Stoke City. He will now exit after a short tenure of just over three months. The club's recruitment structure will continue to be led by head of recruitment Tommy Johnson and chief scout Martin Foyle.
"I have enjoyed my time at Port Vale and would like to thank everyone for their support," Darnbrough said.
The change in recruitment leadership occurs during a difficult period on the pitch. Port Vale were relegated from League One last season and have started the new campaign with a record of no wins, two draws and three defeats. Their recent form reads LLDDL, with the latest result a 1-0 loss away to Salford City on September 5.
With two goals scored and seven conceded, the team's immediate focus is on improving results. Their next fixture is a home match against Exeter City this Saturday. This season's squad details are available on the squad page.
Darnbrough's exit marks another shift in a challenging season for the Valiants as they seek to climb away from the foot of the table.
