Port Vale's away match at Colchester United has been postponed. The League Two fixture, set for Saturday 3 October at the JobServe Community Stadium, was called off because of international call-ups within the Vale squad.
Colchester United confirmed the postponement in a club statement. The club said tickets and car park permits already purchased for the original date will remain valid for the rearranged game once a new date is set.
League struggles continue
The postponement comes as Port Vale sit 24th in the table with just two points from their opening five games. Their recent form reads LLDDL, with the latest result a 1-0 defeat away to Salford City on 5 September.
With two goals scored and seven conceded, Vale have a goal difference of minus five. They are ten points behind early leaders Bristol Rovers.
What happens next
Darren Moore's side must now wait for a new date for the Colchester trip. Their next scheduled fixture is an away game against Rotherham United on 9 January 2027. Rotherham currently occupy 18th place in the division. Supporters can check the updated fixtures list for any changes.
The break from league action provides a chance to regroup after a difficult start. The club will be hoping the international players return fit and ready to help turn the season around.
